Block Club Wins Communication Arts Award for Tommyrotter Distillery Packaging

The Block Club team is thrilled to share that we’ve been presented with a Communication Arts 2016 Award of Excellence for the packaging we designed for Tommyrotter Distillery! Our work is currently featured in Communication Arts’ Typography Annual 6, on newsstands now.

Block Club developed Tommyrotter’s brand, including identity, packaging, stationery, collateral, an ad campaign, website, and the interior of the distillery tasting room.

A custom sans serif wordmark and accompanying brandmark draw inspiration from the nature-inspired Arts & Crafts style.

Gin and vodka bottles are wrapped in embossed, color-blocked labels, with saw-tooth edging and illustrated patterns representing the spirits’ natural ingredients.

In 2015, Block Club received another honor from CommArts, for our designs for Issue 36 of Block Club magazine, as well as international recognition from HOW for our branding of Big Ditch Brewery, and 11 Addy awards for client work like Buffalo Proper, The Black Sheep and the United Nations.
