Block Club’s 10 Things: 2015 Edition
What a year we’ve had! As we enjoy our year-end break, relaxing and celebrating all of our hard work in 2015, we take a look at a few of the year’s best Clubhaus posts.
The year began on a high note, when Block Club was awarded 11 ADDY Awards, including eight Golds, three Silvers, and two Judge’s Choice nominations for Best in Show!
Big Ditch Branding Wins HOW Award
Block Club was selected as a Merit winner in HOW International Design Awards for the identity and branding collateral design work for Big Ditch Brewing Company. This highly selective and well-regarded competition sponsored by HOW magazine recognizes excellence on a global scale.
Block Club Magazine’s Last Issue
After eight years and 40 issues, we printed our last issue of Block Club magazine. Editor Ben Siegel celebrated by choosing his favorite ten stories.
We worked on an exciting campaign for the City of Buffalo, 34 and More, to help increase recycling throughout the city. Work included an interactive website that answers residents’ most commonly asked questions.
As part of an ongoing interview series, Margaret Finan asks area photographer Rhea Anna about her creative process, balancing art and commerce, and collaborating with Block Club on a client project…
“Check Yes” to Save a Life
…speaking of which! We had the pleasure of working with Rhea on a series of videos for our client Unyts, which is one of the leading organ, tissue, blood and eye procurement organizations in the United States. This campaign put real-life waiting-list recipients front and center, asking viewers to save them from their medical ailments.
Our work this year for Evergreen Health Services included an educational campaign for PrEP, a daily pill for HIV prevention. Work was implemented across the city, targeting audiences with billboards, print ads and bus shelter ads, directing viewers to a website full of helpful information.
Cheers to Tommyrotter
Tommyrotter Distillery opened its doors this summer, and Block Club was there from Day One to create its brand, including its signature green and yellow labels for locally distilled gin and vodka.
Laura Hoerner interned with us this summer, and brought with her a ton of ideas and creative contributions! She leaves not only her design work, but a list of things she learned along the way—a great read for hopeful interns!
Block Club Scooter Club
And last but certainly not least! We spend so many hours working hard, that sometimes we just need to get outside and ride a scooter. Good thing Dave Horesh has one of his own! Take a look as the team took rides, enjoying one of the last (technically official) days of summer!
Thanks for a wonderful 2015, Clubhaus readers! We’ll see you in 2016!
