Buffalo in NOLA

I recently ventured down south to New Orleans for the very first time. A group of friends from Buffalo, Memphis and San Francisco decided to meet up and party down in this beautiful city.

We ran into a Halloween Parade, filled up on beignets in City Park, experienced Mae’s Gumbo at Mother’s and the listened to the sounds of Helen Gillet’s looping cello at Bacchanal.

The French Quarter feels frozen in time, but in the best way possible. The lack of glass tower high-rises, new-build homes and box stores is a credit to the people of New Orleans. It’s the kind of city you don’t really see much of anymore.

The cobblestone streets, amazing food and large looming trees made for a slower welcoming pace. New Orleans is New Orleans. It’s like no other.
