Currently Listening to: Silence
Almost everyone here at the office pops on a pair of headphones when they need to put their head down and plow through some work. My go-to options include some form of white noise using the app Noizio, the latest set from John Digweed or the John Williams movie soundtrack station on Pandora. There’s no way I could listen to anything that has a conversation as it would completely distract me from the task at hand.
That’s why I wasn’t surprised to read this article by Lindsay Mannering about how more and more people are using headphones to not listen to music, but rather to let others know that they’re trying to focus and don’t want to be interrupted. There are so many distractions these days that I completely understand anyone that uses their headphones as means to help them focus.
