David Carr’s Writing Wisdom
Celebrated New York Times journalist David Carr passed away a year ago this month. In the many public eulogies of his life’s work, there came underlined Carr’s sense of the writing process—what it takes to be good; what it takes to get the work done. The man knew how to write.
I found a post last year following Carr’s death, which took some of his wisdom and gave it the title card treatment. When I am struggling with my words, or maybe feeling conflicted about the writing life, I refer to this page and Carr’s gravely voice comes through, loud and clear.
