Proust Club: Brandon Davis
We’re asking the Block Club team a few questions from the famous Proust Questionnaire, popularized by the famous French essayist and novelist. This famous interview style has been interpreted many times over, from Vanity Fair’s popular last-page profile to “Inside the Actor’s Studio.” Today’s questionnaire is with Brandon Davis, Block Club’s co-founder and creative director. Let’s see what Brandon has to say…

Exploring a new neighborhood, in a new city, with my husband and a few close friends, with no real destination, and a good cup of coffee in hand.
What is your greatest fear?
Dying of any and every disease I’ve ever heard of, or in a horrific accident. Basically, dying in general, but especially before I’ve lived a long, fulfilling life.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Too hard to choose just one: bigotry, dishonesty, malice, apathy.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My husband. There was chemistry from the moment we first saw each other.

Without question, my wedding day was the happiest day of my life. I’ll never forget the overwhelming feeling of love and support, with everyone I love together in one room.
Which talent would you most like to have?
Fluency in at least one other language.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Building a company that’s earned a solid reputation for quality work, and that employs good, talented people; that I get to do work that I truly enjoy, with people I deeply respect.

Buffalo. I’m proud to live in Buffalo, where I, like all of my friends and family who live here, genuinely care about our city and the impact we and others can have on our respective communities.
What do you most value in your friends?
Kindness, honesty, humor, dependability, curiosity.
