5,184,000 seconds. That’s the estimated amount of time each year that I spend listening to John Digweed’s weekly show “Transitions.” Digweed got his start DJing in Hastings, England over 30 years ago, and now travels all over the world, playing at some of the biggest clubs and festivals. His sets offer the perfect mixture of energetic dance music that allows me to focus on the task at hand.
But it’s not just his impeccable track selection or flawless mixing that I’m drawn to; the artwork for “Transitions,” along with album artwork for releases on Digweed’s label Bedrock are beautiful in their own right. Both of these items evoke a sense of calm and focus. It’s that mixture—especially with the music—that helps me focus and be more efficient at work.
Even though he’s now pushing 50, he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Set number 650 came out last week and I can’t wait to hear what he has in store for the next 650. Take a listen for yourself here
